Inspired by: Love

Today I am playing around with my new Glimmer Mist sprays (love!) with delicious names like 'Marmalade' and 'Butternut Squash'. I adore these sprays and they are perfect to use with my stencils. And my biggest love today is also the cheapest element that I have used to date: bubble wrap packaging. I randomly sprayed the bubble wrap with the mists and pressed them onto the pages. An amazing effect:

Today's art journalling is inspired by love, and the sentiment sewn onto the page reads:
Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but looking together in the same direction.
There is a little story behind this. Over the past few months I have seen love from an entirely new perspective. And this perhaps also comes from time (eighteen years together) and experience (of the make-or-break variety). After a very long time, we are now two people looking in the same direction.

That is not to say one must have the same interests and personality as their partner: M won't be rushing into the craft room to start painting and stamping any time soon. More simply, I have found that love grows from an awareness that differences can be complementary, providing they are used for the same end-goal.

As I am feeling so reflective today, I am a little inspired to put more themes into my art journal pages. Hence the 'Inspired by' post title. I think a lot of recent life experiences are coming through in my art. Why not write about them?

One of my favourite quotes Jen!
I also have the Marmalade mist and love them too.
Starting an art Journal is something I have been wanting to do.
Sometimes it is hard to put thoughts down in writing, so an art journal would be a fun and relaxing way to express your feelings.
Your bubble wrap technique looks fabulous!

I really like the way you've done the positive/negative flower & heart stencil. Very cool! The blue mist you got is an awesome colour too.
